bible verse

Ruth 1:1

meaning

The name originated from the Hebrew name נָעֳמִי (Na’omiy) meaning “beautiful”, “pleasant” and “delight”. In the Old Testament, Naomi was Ruth’s mother-in-law. She underwent a series of bitterness—the death of her husband and her two sons. However, Ruth had remained very faithful and followed her to Bethlehem. Naomi met a relative on her husband’s side called Boaz who later on married Ruth and they were the great-grandparents of the future King David.
